The bentonite clay detox bath & why it works to remove toxins.
Why Detox Bathe?
Everyday we are exposed to hundreds and thousands of toxins in our air, water, food and products. Our workplaces, cars, stores, and even sometimes our own homes.
Bentonite clay, is one of my favorite tools to use for a detox bath and I use it regularly, especially when I am exposed to 5G, or when I am having a reaction. Bentonite clay can do many things, and its use transdermally is not only invigorating, but it helps you detox heavy metals, pesticides like glyphosate, fluoride and many other chemical toxins.
It is through the skin, specifically your sweat glands, that toxins exit your body. The lymphs, liver and kidneys are usually overworked in people with chronic & environmental illnesses, especially ones like Lyme, Mold and Heavy metal toxicity. In 25% of the population biotoxins aren’t able to exit the body on their own due to genetics. In our house alone all 4 of us have this geno-type.
With the growing list of toxicity exposure, I wouldn’t doubt that even the average “well” person has a substantial buildup causing unrecognizable yet related symptoms that could use a good detox bath. It was toxins that triggered my decline in health, and is the root causation of many illnesses that have taken hold of half of our population.
Much of the time people go for an assault approach to these illnesses that are triggered by the environment. It’s that westernized philosophy to “attack”, without taking a step back to recognize the need to help the toxins exit the body as well. I see all too often this step is skipped. Not only does this cause re-circulation and absorption of the very things we are trying to eradicate but this is a further cause of skin issues, irritating rashes, patches of dullness, acne and that lackluster look to our skin.
high quality h2o
Before I go further, I want to share a part of our story that is important for anyone but especially if your already sick. One of my good friends, Matt Blackburn, and of course Adam Sandler in The Water Boy, were the first people to make me realize just how important quality water is, and not just for drinking. It can, in a lot of cases, make your detox baths ineffective.
One of the first things I noticed after moving in with my mother in law after we lost our house was the water. Her home is very close to the ocean and the water is sulfur-ish, stains brown and smells like rotten eggs. Naturally, I didn’t want to bathe in it. I didn’t even want to shower, but I couldn’t complain, it’s just how the water is here.
This can be caused by a number of things, the smell is hydrogen sulfide, but the color can be a variety from rust, chemicals, metal or sediments. Most Americans even with clear, unscented water have disturbing amounts of fluoride, metals, chemicals and even pharmaceuticals coming out their spouts.
It was reported that 170 million people have radioactive water coming from their taps in 2018.
With that said, my most recommended product to get first and foremost for your health is a water filter. I have 3 options for you guys to check out and it really depends on your budget and what your looking for. Click each one to check them out:
Invigorated Water’s Shower Filter -removes copper, chlorine, fluoride, chloramine, nickel, cadium and a host of other heavy metals for $29.97
Berkey’s Shower Filter - improved shower filtration media, which is most effective in reducing free chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, scale and iron oxide (rust water) for $49.00
Propur’s Shower Filter -helps reduce over 200 contaminants including VOC’s, heavy metals, lead, pesticides, chloramines, chlorine, fluoride, herbicides, pharmaceuticals and odor for $79.95
They are super easy to install, currently we are using the Berkey filter and it’s worked great, although I wish they made one for the tub spout! I have not found a proper bathtub spout filter yet, so it’s kind of a thing to fill up our tub but we do it!
Bentonite Clay, what is it?
Bentonite Clay is made of aged volcanic ash and has a high concentration of minerals including silica, calcium, magnesium, sodium, iron, and potassium. The name comes from the largest known deposit of Bentonite Clay located in Fort Benton, Wyoming.
Bentonite Clay is a spectacular due to its ability to produce an electrical charge when hydrated. Upon contact with fluid, its electrical components change, giving it a strong negative charge which then bonds to the positive charge in many toxins giving it a grounding effect. This is why it’s so crucial in a detox bath since it has these magical earthly abilities to absorb and remove toxic heavy meats, impurities and chemicals from your skin while you absorb all its mineral nutrients.
Bentonite is a swelling clay. When it becomes mixed with water it rapidly swells open like a highly porous sponge. From here the toxins are drawn into the sponge through electrical attraction and once there, they are bound. Bentonite also helps get oxygen to cells as it pulls excess hydrogen and allows the cells to replace it with oxygen instead.
My favorite recipes
These two detox baths below are super simple, not expensive and very beneficial. It’s safe for kids, but use your own judgement with the oils. Some can be irritating to the skin for some.
One more thing, don’t use metal bowls or spoons or anything metal with clay. It takes away it’s magical properties.
Be sure to tell me how you like them, I love hearing from you guys!
The clay we get can be used for internal detox as well, you can check it out here: Earth’s Natural Clay
