Q: Why did you create PJ Harlow Wellness Inc?

A: When my own family got sick from hidden mold, it was a very different atmosphere. Back then, Mold Illness was largely underground still. There were no accessible mold doctors, webinars, podcasts or summits. There were no mold coaches, guides or PDF’s. There were NO influencers or people sharing their stories or talking about mold on Instagram. Mold was rarely on the radar of Naturopaths & Functional Medicine Practitioners.

It was extremely challenging to find ANYONE knowledgable to help us. When I would visit a new doctor, as soon as I mentioned mold, there would be an awkward pause or eye roll, then an immediate denial. At best, my concerns would be shut down and we’d be referred to an allergist or an infectious disease specialist. When it came to our home, we got similar gaslighting. We were told that “air tests were accurate to identify health concerns” and “your indoor mold levels are normal compared to outside.”

The reality:

First, a “normal” air test result does not guarantee that your home does not have hidden water damage or mold. Nor is it capable of clearing your concerns of any health risk. Second, This wasn’t an allergy, nor did I have a fungal “infection”. I was literally being poisoned by a chemical composition of mycotoxins, mold fragments and other inflammatory byproducts that accumulated in my body after being exposed to water damage in my home. My immune system was suppressed and overreacting with a chronic inflammatory response, resulting in debilitating symptoms that would cost me my ability to function. Third, this was not “all in my head”.

I can’t tell you how many times I heard:

“Mold Illness isn’t real”

When I reached out to the home professionals in the mold industry, their practices were outdated and unfitting. While I could immediately identify their methodology didn’t align with my idea of a healthy home, I struggled to fully defend myself in our conversations. I was consistently overpowered by the language of mold which, at the time, I was unable to speak. When I did find someone that I thought was open-minded, I realized I lacked the technical skillset to vet them. Sadly, in the end, just like we hear from many of our clients, I had to base my decision on how “nice” the technician was on the phone.

Hindsight is 20/20.

Practically everyone knows what mold is. But when people start to research it with intent…at some point though, everyone hits a brick wall, and the lines become blurred as to what’s true, & what’s not.

You begin to wonder about what’s misinformation, and what’s actually right for you.

what we believe?-2.png

mold Illness & water damage are not rare things…

Finding professionals who are educated & trained on how to properly handle mold is the actual rarity.

Most working “professionals” in the mainstream mold industry did not receive any training on the realistic health effects & risk involved within water damaged buildings.

Considering over 50% of homes have existing water damage, this lack of education & training creates a clear distinction between everything you will read here, vs. what you will hear out there.

For all the reasons above, THIS was my inspiration to create PJ Harlow Wellness.

This was a core reason why I was driven to virtually consult, and the genesis behind my company. I never wanted anyone to go through what we did. I was determined to help people navigate this very challenging terrain. Since we opened in 2019, my work has provided me with a unique window of perspective into the lives of so many who have trusted me to guide them through mold into healthy homes. I have walked side by side with so many beautiful people who have bared their souls to me through their darkest hours, & I made a promise to myself that I wouldn’t let all of that pain go to waste.

I listened, learned, & paid careful attention to articulate the messages that were gifted to me. These exceptional humans, have in many ways paved the future for all the thousands of individuals who will end up benefiting from their stories. This is my continued “why”

Q: What types of session options do you offer?

A. We offer a full catalog of services that you can explore via our services tab. We also have detailed descriptions of our actual sessions under the booking tab as well.

Q: What are some of the topics you cover in your sessions?

A: We highly recommend exploring our services page to explore the topics we cover. While mold is our primary focus, we delve into a diverse range of pioneering categories, topics, and micro-topics within our sessions.

Q: Do you give out free referrals to companies in my local area?

A: Due to the complex and individualized nature of both healing and/or creating a healthy home, we are unable to offer referrals to non members.

We consider a variety of factors when making our recommendations, including the clients health, susceptibility, sensitivity, budget, dwelling history, mechanical systems, drainage, foundation, etc. Our intake process is extremely thorough whereas we also assess any evidence that has been collected before making any suggestions. In order for us to refer to a candidate with this level of intention, we need to understand and investigate a case to do so. Therefore, we can tailor the experience and our recommendations based on the clients individual needs, vs. the less effective methods of simply suggesting someone based on their geographical location.

If you are interested in our referral services, this service is only offered through our Membership .

Q: Where should I start if I want to figure out if my home has mold?

Every journey towards a healthy home begins with a comprehensive intake assessment. Our ERMI Test + Interpretation Session provides a detailed evaluation of your home's mold risk, uncovering valuable data that we use to guide you towards the best next steps for your circumstances.

  2. Expert Interpretation: You will be prompted to schedule your test interpretation session with us to delve into the results and receive a personalized risk assessment. The ERMI's true value lies in its professional interpretation, which goes beyond mere numerical scores (We DO NOT use the ERMI score).

  3. Strategize Your Next Steps: Upon identifying potential issues, we'll collaborate with you to strategize the subsequent phases of your project. To fully address these concerns and ensure a healthy home environment, we recommend upgrading to our membership program. As a member, you will receive additional tailored guidance and support throughout inspection, remediation, decontamination and beyond.

Step 2: Create Your Holistic Home Dream Team

You'll gain a thorough understanding of inspection & remediation practices, enabling you to make informed decisions for your home's health.

Q: What if I have already started this process?

A. Most people already have their toe in the water when they come to work with us.

There are so many layers and aspects to water damage, mold contamination & creating a healthy home, our services are invaluable. Our support isn’t designed to solely focus on people just beginning. A large majority of our past clientele came to us already in the middle of inspection &/or remediation. It was only after they began the process did they learn that things weren’t going the way they expected.

We are experienced in helping clients navigate every stage of home/mold inspection, remediation, decontamination & strategies of risk mitigation & mold prevention. We teach clients what to look for, who to hire and why, including all the steps needed to avoid cross contamination and how to make your home safe.

Q: What if my mold situation is complex…?

A: After guiding over 1500 families through their mold crisis whether it was remediation, selling, moving, decontamination, mold trauma, transitioning, etc., there isn’t much we haven’t seen at this point. We know all the individualized challenges that come with healing a home.

We know the realistic obstacles that people face, from financial burden & budgets, to a lack of professionals in your area, to having partners or spouses who express skepticism and even people who are overwhelmed by their own indecisiveness and analysis paralysis.

We can help you figure out a plan no matter what is happening.

Most of our clients come to us feeling suffocated with too much information, they are often hesitant to make a move, unsure of what to do, and how to prioritize within all the chaos that commonly accompanies this topic.

We know you have big decisions looming over your head, so we make this process super easy to digest, providing you with the step by step order of what to do first, second & third, and the confidence & knowing that you can make your home safe.

Q: What is Back Time?

A: Back time is the time that we, as virtual consultants, spend outside of client sessions working on researching and investigating a case. This includes reviewing data, evidence, reports, pictures, video, timelines, client statements, and intakes

Because we are virtual consultants, we do not have the benefit of being able to meet with clients in person, or physically assess their homes to discuss investigations. This means that we must rely heavily on the information that you provide to us remotely. Back time allows us to thoroughly review this data and develop a deep understanding of each case so we can offer the most relevant opinions, options, findings and opportunities.

Benefits of back time for our clients:

  1. More informed consultations: By spending time to research and investigate each case, we are able to provide more informed and insightful consultations.

  2. Better recommendations: Our back time allows us to develop more comprehensive and effective recommendations for our clients.

  3. More efficient use of client time: By assessing inspection reports, testing, workscopes & preparation ahead of time, we can make better use of our clients' time during consultations.

The OCP Membership includes an initial 2 hrs of back time. Once this time is used, members automatically transition into our hourly rate of $250 per hour.

Q: What is the VRL (Virtual Resource Library)?

The VRL (Virtual Resource Library) is a digital, comprehensive collection of educational materials and resources designed to help clients who have purchased our onboarded into our practice navigate the home health timeline which is broken up into five phases of the journey. The VRL includes virtual blueprints, printable cheat sheets, checklists, and workbooks that are tailored to each client's individual needs.

The VRL complements the consulting services offered by the OCP, as it allows clients to review and apply the information they learn from their consultants at their own pace. The VRL is also a valuable tool for clients because it provides them with the information and support they need to manage their home’s healing &/or remediation projects independently.

The VRL includes virtual blueprints, printable cheat sheets, checklists, and workbooks on a variety of topics, including:

  1. How to identify risk

  2. How to find an inspector

  3. How to develop a mold remediation plan

  4. How to sort, clean and decontaminate your home/contents

Each phase of the VRL is tailored to the specific needs and circumstances of the client. For example, the Phase 1 VRL resources may include information on how to conduct a holistic home inspection, while the Phase 5 VRL resources may include information on how to clean and disinfect your home after mold remediation is complete.

Q: What is a blueprint? (BP’s)

Blueprint (BP): Exclusively for our members, Blueprints (BPs) are your in-depth guides to creating a healthy home, available anytime between sessions. Think of them as virtual manuals, some like our iconic Cleaning & Decontamination Blueprint clocking in at a whopping 88 pages! These comprehensive resources delve into the different phases of home healing, focusing on decontamination, remediation, and inspection. Each BP is like a treasure trove of information, offering step-by-step guidance you can explore section by section. Packed with expert advice and industry secrets, BPs empower you to take action and create a healthy environment for yourself and your loved ones. While not printable, BPs are conveniently accessible online for members whenever they need them.

Cheatsheet: A cheatsheet is a concise, printable one-pager that acts as a quick reference guide to a specific Blueprint (BP). Think of it as a cliff notes version of a BP, highlighting the key takeaways, essential information, and important reminders for decontamination, remediation, inspection, or other home healing tasks.

Checklist: For our members only, a checklist is a short, printable companion to our in-depth Blueprints (BPs). It summarizes the key steps or tasks you'll find within a specific BP, presented in a concise and action-oriented format. Think of it as a handy to-do list you can take with you and reference as you complete a particular decontamination, remediation, inspection, or other home healing project.

Q: Can I print the blueprints? I like to read on paper.

A: No. Our VRL (virtual resource library) is only accessible digitally online and not in a printable format for a number of reasons, including:

  • Evergreen: Our VRL is an evergreen library, meaning it evolves and contains living documents. This means that our resources are constantly being updated and revised to reflect the latest information, client feedback and best practices. This is important because it ensures that our clients and team members always have access to the most accurate and up-to-date information possible.

  • Accessibility: Our VRL is accessible from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. This makes it convenient for our clients and team members to access the resources they need, regardless of their location.

  • Sustainability: Digital resources are more sustainable than printed resources. They do not require paper, ink, or other physical materials to produce. Additionally, digital resources can be updated & revised more easily than printed resources.

  • Security: Our VRL contains proprietary information and intellectual property that we need to protect. By keeping our resources in a digital format, we can better control who has access to them and prevent them from being copied or distributed without our permission.

While the majority of our Virtual Resource Library (VRL) is digital (blueprints), we understand that some people prefer to have access to tangible documents. That's why we've created a selection of printable cheat sheets and checklists that contain robust, powerful highlights and bullet points of the most important data and information from our library. These are a great way to quickly review key concepts or to have a handy reference on hand.

Q: Does access to the Virtual Resource Library expire?

A: Yes. As a perk, we include 6 months of VRL access in our OCP (Onboarding Client Program).

One of the major benefits of our VRL is that it’s evergreen. The library is full of living documents that grow in real time. Unlike a stagnant PDF, our library is constantly evolving.

Q: Can I continue my VRL access if I am a client?

A: Yes! We have a VRL Subscription Plan for all clients (Remember you are only a client if you have joined our practice through the OCP. You must have been an OCP client or an HHP client from 2022 & after).

Q: How much does it cost?

Monthly Subscription Access is $50 per month.

  • There is also a *3 month minimum subscription unless you subscribe & join before your original OCP 6m. perk expires.
