The Endotoxin Test

The Endotoxin Test is an easy to do, at home, bacterial toxin test that can be used to gauge your home’s health status along with the ERMI, or it may be used as a tool to evaluate a possible endotoxin exposure in your home or space. 

Simply put, the Endotoxin Test is meant to evaluate: 

• IF there is an Endotoxin issue

• HOW much Endotoxin is in the dust sample

• It does NOT tell us WHERE any issue is however, please note below regarding isolating areas.*

If you have a large home, (over 3000 sq. ft.) or multiple floors, it is suggested, (but not required) to consider additional tests, or to consider isolating testing to each floor. This allows for a more precise evaluation to assist in possibly locating an exposure but it is not necessary for your first time testing.

Endotoxins are derived from the cell walls of Gram-Negative bacteria (GNB). Gram-negative bacteria are found almost anywhere in nature. Their toxins are found within the outer layer membrane of the GNB cell wall. They do not have to be living, therefore both viable and non-viable gram-negative bacteria contribute endotoxins.

Each Endotoxin Test kit contains:

• 1 Dust Cloth

• 1 pair of PPE Gloves

• 1 labeled Ziploc for Results

• 1 Chain of Custody Form

• PJ’s Customized Sample Instructions

• 1 Pre-addressed Envelope

Although an addressed envelope is included, we do recommend clients purchase their own expedited shipping back to the lab so it can be tracked and will arrive faster. We suggest using UPS or Fed EX. (USPS has been known to deliver improperly.) Your kit(s) will be shipped using priority mail on the next business day after you order.

If you are in need of an urgent (overnight) shipping of kits, please contact PJ via email prior to your order for possible arrangements.

Turn around time (TAT) ~

You will have the choice to select a lab turn around time of 7 or 1 business day(s). Results will be sent to the email address you provide. Kit(s) will be mailed via priority on the next business day & tracking will be emailed to you. If you are in need of urgent interpretation, or if you would like expedited shipping, please contact PJ via email prior to your order.

**The lab ONLY processes orders on business days. Once your test sample is received, TAT will begin the NEXT business day.

Please Note: This test is not easy to decipher. We highly recommend that you have a trained professional (like us) who is versed in reading this type of testing assist you in your risk assessment or interpretation of results. This is something we offer in our healthy home consulting.

We are not responsible for delays due to the U.S. Postal Service or Test Results that are skewed/indeterminable from lack of dust collection or non-determinable results of any kind. The Endotoxin Kit expires one year after purchase.
